Wedding Photography Tutorial DVD

posted in Other | 5 Comments »

I’m so excited to announce the release of my very own Wedding Photography Tutorial DVD, where I explain every detail of my shooting and editing techniques. To order the DVD and read more about the details of it, please go to: wedding-photography-tutorial.com. There, you’ll find all the info you need, so I won’t repeat it here.

This project has literally been my biggest achievement ever.  We spent hundreds of hours trying to make sure that we include amazing, simple to understand content that will actually help photographers achieve the same quality results as I am fortunate to have learned over the last 7 years.  At one stage of the production, I sat in front of the camera from 6pm to 4am, trying to record the main part of the ‘interview’ piece.  Since apparently I am incredibly uncomfortable in front of the camera, the most simple paragraphs took as many as 25 takes to achieve good results.  My perfectionism made everything more difficult…but at the same time the fact that the video came out so good was because I couldn’t settle for ‘good enough’.

There are so many people I’d like to thank. Here they are:

Pamela Barron Cobo, who was the co-producer of this DVD and translated it to Spanish.  That’s right, the full DVD version is also available in Spanish.

Max Lopatin of Impel Visuals, who did all the work in regards to actually filming and editing the video. I can’t say enough about how thankful I am to him. He has spent so much time perfecting this video that it’s ridiculous.  He’s an amazing friend and video professional.

Flosites‘ team of Alina, Ross, Vova & Dima, who also had to deal with my pickiness and perfectionism.  Thank you guys for doing an amazing job creating the DVD website (fyi they also created this blog)

Eleanor Petry (photographer), Kae of Short and Sweet Design, Alla Karpenko, and Galina Lopatin for modeling for my on-site tutorials.

Makeup Jewel and Makeup by Annabelle for providing amazing makeup for my photo shoots.

Alex Commer for helping with the filming and designing the DVD menus, and in general just being an awesome friend.

Vitaly Druchinin who helped me with the actual DVD productions, since he has some amazing fashion retouching tutorials of his own.

To the four couples whose “behind the scenes” photo shoot footage is used on the DVD (Vicki & Maksim, Chad & Alex, Katy & JuanManuel, Ara & Andrew)

To amazing photographers who believe in so much that they have endorsed the DVD – Gabe McClintock, Fer Juaristi, Michael Greenberg, and Citlalli Rico.  You guys don’t know how much this means.  (you can read what they said on the DVD site at the bottom)

To the many amazing professionals who have believed in my project and me, and have helped to inform others about this DVD.  Blogs, facebook posts, tweets – thank you so much, everyone have helped spread the word.

And of course thank you to all my fans who have supported me throughout the years. It would be impossible to get this done without the love that I’ve received from you. Thank you so very much.

Best of 2010

posted in Other | 17 Comments »

2010 has been a HUGE year for my photography; both as a business, and as art. This past year I have finally settled on an editing style – clean and colorful; I finally have a ‘signature’ style, something I did not have in the past, jumping from one style to another. I have launched my new brand, site and blog with the help of Lara Casey and Flosites, to whom I am extremely grateful. I got to travel a little bit, shooting in exotic places like Mexico and Brazil. And in general, this has been a year where I really pushed myself to be the very best I can be; I hope to still have a little energy left to do the same in ’11.

Thanks to all of you who keep supporting me and enjoying my work. The biggest reward for me is to know that what I do matters and impresses someone out there.

Last, but not least – thanks to all my couples who granted me the opportunity to photograph their wedding, which is one of the biggest days in a person’s life. THANK YOU

Here are just a few of my favorites from 2010. Enjoy :)
